Networks that stay up.
Security that holds.

I design, build and review networks for small and growing organizations — offices, branches, cloud links and the security controls around them. Vendor-neutral advice, careful change management and documentation your team can actually use.

  • Routing & Switching
  • Firewall & VPN
  • Hardening
  • Secure Connectivity
Vendor-neutralRecommendations follow requirements and budget, not a reseller list.
Change-safeEvery change planned with validation steps and a rollback path.
DocumentedDiagrams, configs and runbooks handed over at the end.
Defensive onlyWork on systems you own or are authorized to manage.

Services

Hands-on engineering and review work, scoped to what you actually need.

Network Design & Architecture

Topology, IP addressing plans, VLAN and zone segmentation, redundancy and growth planning for offices, branches and small server rooms.

  • Logical & physical diagrams
  • Addressing and naming standards
  • High-availability options

Routing & Switching

Configuration and troubleshooting of switched and routed networks, from access layer to internet edge.

  • VLANs, trunks, link aggregation
  • Static routing, OSPF, BGP
  • Fault isolation on live networks

Firewall & VPN

Perimeter and internal firewall policy design, rule-base clean-up, and secure remote and site-to-site access.

  • Least-privilege policy design
  • IPsec / SSL VPN, remote admin access
  • Logging that is actually reviewed

Security Review & Hardening

Configuration reviews of network devices and Linux servers against widely used best practices, delivered as a prioritized, practical report.

  • Exposure and access review
  • Hardening baselines
  • Remediation support

Secure Connectivity

Encrypted, monitored links between sites, cloud workloads and distributed teams, with clear access control.

  • Hybrid and multi-site links
  • Identity-aware access patterns
  • Availability monitoring

Documentation & Handover

Turning undocumented networks into something your team can operate: inventories, diagrams and runbooks.

  • As-built documentation
  • Operating runbooks
  • Knowledge-transfer sessions

02

Solution Areas

Typical building blocks. Equipment and software are chosen per project; no vendor partnership or reseller status is implied.

Campus & Branch Switching

Structured access/core design, Wi-Fi segmentation, PoE planning and resilient uplinks.

Perimeter & Internal Firewalls

Next-generation firewall deployments, zone-based policy and east-west segmentation.

Site-to-Site & Cloud Links

Encrypted tunnels between offices and cloud networks with routing that fails over cleanly.

Remote Access

VPN and secure administration access for distributed staff, with MFA-ready designs.

Monitoring & Logging

Syslog collection, availability checks and sensible alerting for network health and security events.

Hardening Baselines

Reusable configuration standards for routers, switches, firewalls and Linux servers.

Example Scenarios

Illustrative examples of the kind of problems this work addresses. They are not descriptions of specific client projects.

Illustrative

A trading office outgrows a flat network

Situation: one subnet for staff, guests, printers and cameras.

Approach: segment into VLANs and firewall zones, separate guest Wi-Fi, document the result.

Outcome sought: smaller blast radius and easier troubleshooting.

Illustrative

Two sites and a cloud environment

Situation: ad-hoc tunnels, unclear routing, outages when a link drops.

Approach: consistent addressing, redundant encrypted links and tested failover.

Outcome sought: predictable connectivity with monitoring.

Illustrative

Firewall rules nobody understands

Situation: years of accumulated "allow any" rules.

Approach: review traffic and ownership, rebuild a least-privilege policy in stages.

Outcome sought: a rule base that can be audited and maintained.

How an Engagement Works

Simple, transparent steps. Scope and terms are agreed before any work starts.

  1. ConversationShort chat on Telegram about goals, environment and constraints.
  2. ScopeWritten scope, deliverables and access requirements agreed in advance.
  3. Assess & designReview of the current state and a documented proposal with options.
  4. ImplementChanges in planned windows, with validation and rollback steps.
  5. HandoverDocumentation, walkthrough and follow-up questions answered.

FAQ

Do you work remotely?

Yes. Most design, review and configuration work can be done remotely with appropriate, client-controlled access. On-site needs are discussed case by case.

Do you sell hardware or software licences?

No. Advice is vendor-neutral. Where equipment is needed, options are recommended and you purchase through your preferred supplier.

Do you do penetration testing or offensive work?

Work is defensive: design, hardening and configuration review. Any security assessment is performed only on systems you own or are explicitly authorized to manage, under an agreed written scope.

How is pricing handled?

There is no public price list. Each request is scoped first, and an estimate is shared before any work begins.

Is this a company?

No — it is an independent, personal practice.
